About the Artist

Eileen K. Crowe

Art, Food for the Soul

Originally from New York, Eileen began her artistic journey at an early age, exploring a variety of mediums that laid the foundation for her creative expression. After finishing graduate school, she eventually made Maryland her home.

Eileen’s work is deeply influenced by American masters particularly Andrew Wyeth, William Merritt Chase, and Georgia O’Keeffe. She primarily works in oils and photography, using both to convey her interpretations of the world’s rich diversity.

“In my paintings and photography, I strive to capture the fleeting impact of a moment—whether it’s the dark shadows cast along a canal path on a hot summer day or the light dancing across the water at sunrise. While the beauty of the East Coast continues to inspire me, I find endless opportunities to explore new creative directions wherever I may be.”

In recent years, Eileen’s paintings have increasingly focused on wild and domesticated animals, reflecting her ongoing fascination with the natural world.

Eileen has exhibited extensively throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including shows at the Sandy Spring and Ratner Museums. Her oil paintings have earned awards from a number of institutions in the area, and her photography received national recognition through a competition hosted by Ghost Ranch in New Mexico.

Eileen has studied with artists throughout the country including Wolf Kahn at the National Academy in New York and under David Zuccarini in Maryland.  In addition, she has studied at the St. Ives School of Painting in Cornwall, England.
